Finding current records can include a remote public records search. You can search for free in Room 231 of the Civic Center Complex during business hours. You can use Tapestry which is for public records search. There is a fee per search service and payment must be made by credit card.

Laredo is a subscription based search service that charges a monthly fee. Payment for Laredo is through a required escrow account and an account needs to be set up with the Recorder’s Office before remote searching is allowed.

You can begin your records search at 1 NW Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Civic Center Complex, – Room 231, Evansville, IN 47708 or by calling 812-435-5215. Online does not list Vanderburgh County, and it is best to contact the Recorder’s Office.

The Vanderburgh County Clerk’s Offices maintain copies of criminal court case records. The office allows in-person, mail, and fax requests. You will need to complete the County Clerk’s request with a case number, litigants’ names, filing, date or other case information.

Search for inmates and their criminal history on the sheriff’s site. Ou will find the name of the defendant, the residence, race, sex age, and when the inmate was booked. There is also a mug shot. Charges are listed under the defendant’s name by clicking the + in the upper right hand corner of the search record. You will find all charges related to the defendant plus the bond amount.

Deeds are legal writs stating who owns a property. You can find copies of Deeds in Vanderburgh County by contacting the Vanderburgh County Clerk at 825 Sycamore Street, Evansville, IN 47708 or by calling 812-435-5160. You can also use email at www.Vanderburghgov.org. Request a form that gives you access to public records. This for will allow you information on criminal matters as well as property matters. You can return the from by mail, ax, or in person. You will need to wait at least 7 days for a reply.
There is also a form from the Document Center that will allow you to browse documents. You will need the title of the document, the type, department or division category, topic, and year. There are over 2400 documents available using this form.
